Pop-Up Outdoor Cinema at The Maltings

ProScreens provided a pop-up outdoor cinema for The Maltings as part of their summer events programme, screening E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial on the first evening and Saturday Night Fever on the second.

A Shower Before the Show

The weather gave us a memorable start. On the first afternoon, we had laid out the inflatable cinema screen and were just about to inflate it when the heavens opened. Within minutes, puddles had gathered across the screen.

Fortunately, it was a passing shower. Once it cleared, we inflated the screen, and the sunshine returned to dry everything out as we continued preparing for the evening’s screening.

Two Evenings of Classic Cinema

This was one of our most memorable events of the year. Being local to us made it particularly enjoyable, and showing Saturday Night Fever was a personal highlight—it had been years since we had last watched it.

Events like this are what we enjoy about outdoor cinema: transforming a familiar space into somewhere people can come together and enjoy a film.
